Why Does SFI Oppose NEP 2020?

Student Struggle Editorial Team

The central cabinet has passed the New Education Policy 2020 (NEP) without the draft being discussed in the parliament or wider consultation with state governments and different stakeholders of education. It was passed during the pandemic, turning it to a golden opportunity, in a way similar to smuggling in a democratic society. The SFI Central Executive Committee (CEC) had expressed their resentment at the move immediately after it was passed, and it has already organised numerous webinars and online discussions on the matter. The organisation has also planned to carry out protests across the nation, alongside an online campaign.

As part of these efforts, SFI’s CEC has published a pamphlet in which the organisation puts across the points and problems of the policy draft, because of which the organisation opposes it. The anti-student elements in NEP 2020 has been summarised in the document. The PDF copy of the same has been republished below and can be downloaded as well. Read and share.
