Education or Exclusion? The Plight of Indian Students, the book edited by the Students’ Federation of India (SFI)’s Nitheesh Narayanan and Dipsita Dhar and jointly published by LeftWord books, Student Struggle and Indian Researcher has been released by Sitaram Yechury, former All India President of the SFI at New Delhi. Prakash Karat and Nilotpal Basu, former president and general secretary of SFI and Sudhanva Deshpande, cultural activist and managing editor of LeftWord greeted the event. VP Sanu, All India president of SFI presided over the function. Mayukh Biswas, SFI general secretary delivered the welcome speech. Both the editors of the book introduced the book. Hannan Mollah, AIKS general secretary and Vikram Singh, AIAWU joint secretary were present.

This book reveals the dangerous master plan of NEP 2020, which seeks to transform educational systems from pre-primary to research levels. The Foreword of the book was written by V P Sanu and Mayukh Biswas.

The book is a collection of articles and interviews by student activists, young researchers, noted scholars and organisers of democratic movement, including Aishe Ghosh, Ajsal E A, A R Sindhu, Ashique Ali Thuppilikkat, Dayal Paleri, Debodeep Banerjee, Dinit Denta, L. Jawahar Nesan, Madhu Prasad, Malini Battacharya, Mukulika Radhakrishnan, Parichay Yadav, Prabhat Patnaik, Rohan D’souza, R Bindu, Ram Puniyani, Sachidanand Sinha, Sangita Das, Soham Bhattacharya, Torsa Saha and V Sivadasan.

The cover illustration was created by Aswath, and the cover is designed by Abhinav.

SFI will also organise book launches in different states and campuses across India in the coming days.
