SFI Assam State Conference Concludes Successfully

The 17th SFI Assam State conference concluded successfully on September 26, 2022. The three day long conference had opened on 24th with a huge cultural procession. More than three thousand students participated in the open rally attended by former General Secretary of Gauhati University Students’ Union and current Sorbhog MLA Manoranjan Talukdar, All India President VP Sanu and All India General Secretary Mayukh Biswas. They spoke on verious educational issues and most importantly shows us the alternative to it. The national leader detailed how rapidly the BJP led central and state government is building bridge with private companies, to sell education.

The SFI’s former committee state secretary Nirangkush Nath said the quality of public education must be improved to make Assam one of the five states of India. On the second day of the three-day conference, a total of 52 delegates discussed the political, academic and organizational reports presented at the conference. Moreover the conference adopted resolutions to resist NEP 2020 and more. At the end of the 17th Assam State Conference, the newly elected President Harshajit Das called on the students and conscious citizens and student community of the state to unite and launch a strong democratic movement to protect the public education system. The conference elected Sangita Das, the first girl State secretary, and thoroughly challenges the norms. The newly elected president and secretary will be leading a state committee of 33 members and secretariat committee of 9 members.
