The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) has released a statement condemning the brutal murder of a 15-year old schoolboy, by members of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Kerala’s Alappuzha district. Named Abhimanyu, the Xth Std boy, who was stabbed multiple times by a group of RSS men, was an activist of SFI, and his older brother, of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI). The incident took place late last night, during a temple festival at Vallikkunnam village. AA Rahim, the state president of DYFI has claimed that Abhimanyu was attacked because his elder brother could not be traced. Two other SFI activists have also been injured, he has said. The issue has garnered state-wide as well as national attention, and many prominent leaders have condemned it by now on social media and elsewhere.

SFI in their recently released statement demands a thorough investigation into the matter. It has also added that nation-wide protests will be held against this, tomorrow, April 16th.

Read the statement below:

The Central Executive Committee of the Students’ Federation of India strongly condemns the brutal murder of the 15 year old comrade Abhimanyu, an activist of SFI who was stabbed to death by the RSS criminals, at Vallikunnam in Alappuzha district of Kerala.

Abhimanyu was a Std. XI student at Amrita School, Vallikunnam. The assailants came targeting Abhimanyu’s elder brother Ananthu, an activist of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), and killed Abhimanyu instead. Along with Abhimanyu, two more students have also been critically injured in this brutal attack and have been hospitalised.

The murder was carried out on the day of the festival of Vishu. This has been a continuation of many prior examples in Kerala, where it can be seen that the RSS have selected festival days and holidays for carrying out their criminal operations. This is intentionally done to hide from media and the public. This itself reveals the clear chances of criminal conspiracy behind the murder.

SFI demands the police for strict investigation on the incident and urges all the democratic sections of the country to rise against the blood thirsty RSS criminals. The SFI also calls upon all its units to organise nation wide protests against the brutal murder of the young student activist.
