The Central Executive Committee of Students’ Federation of India expressed their solidarity with students from Afghanistan who are pursuing courses in Indian Universities and appealed to the Government of India to ensure that all Afghan students receive visa or gets their visa extended immediately. Afghan students in India are worried about their future in India and fear returning to their homeland under Taliban rule. India recorded 4,504 student admissions from Afghanistan according to the All India Survey of Higher Education (AISHE) report 2019-20. Earlier this week Afghan students pursuing courses at IIT Bombay, JNU, Andhra University have sought help from their institute authorities to arrange for their visas.
