Hyderabad To Host SFI’s 17th All India Conference

Hyderabad, the land of the historic Telangana uprising will host the 17th All India Conference of SFI which has been scheduled to take place from December 13 to 16 of this year. It is after a gap of four years the highest-level conference of the largest student organization in the country sets to take the stage. The pandemic and the long closer of campuses had affected the everyday normal activities of the organization. Due to this extraordinary situation, the conference was due for a year. It is the second time that Hyderabad becomes the host city for the all-India conference of SFI. The 12th conference was also held in the same city. Though it is the first conference after the Telangana state formation.

SFI moves to its conference with the slogan ‘Educate All, Employ All and Unite All’. The Central Executive Committee of the organization has already given a call to its members inviting proposals for amendments to its programme. There will also be amendments proposed by the outgoing CEC at the conference. Any member of the organization can send their proposals on amendment till November 30th.

The conference logo was released by Manik Sarkar, the founding vice president of SFI and former Chief Minister of Tripura in the presence of SFI all-India leadership at Agartala. The logo, which was selected following a public call, and was designed by Albee Ashik from West Bengal. The conference will discuss the challenges before the student community in the country, the dangers of new education policy, and attacks on democracy and constitution and will make concrete plans for future struggles and mobilizations. SFI will also assess the organizational strength and weaknesses in order to reach out to new sections and areas. More than 700 activists, including delegates, observers, and CEC members will attend the conference representing four million members across the country. The conference will also pass many resolutions on various issues concerning the student community and also the larger society.
