Our Democracy Is More Meaningful Than Any Other: Fernando González Llort

On September 12, 1998, five Cuban Intelligence officers, renowned as the Cuban Five: Gerardo Hernández, Antonio Guerrero, Ramón Labañino, Fernando González, and René González were arrested in Miami, US on 25 counts, including charges of false identification and conspiracy to commit espionage. It took 16 years of legal, diplomatic and political fight for their release from U.S. prisons and their return to Cuba in 2014.
